A large number of patients see an ENT doctor for issues with ear congestion. Symptoms such as hearing loss, ear fullness, feeling like coming down from an airplane and the ears never opening up, or feeling underwater. These are all symptoms of eustachian tube congestion. Normally this tube in the back of the nose opens and closes to allow the ears to feel normal. This problem can be caused by conditions such as allergy or infection. In those whom medication does not work, an in office procedure can be done to open the Eustachian tube with a balloon. It is safe, it is easy and it is covered by insurance. There is no downtime at all and it is very successful at relieving chronic ear congestion.
